10 de Mayo, 2003: La Segunda Siembra fue un Éxito

Rincón, PR -- La Segunda Siembra Annual de Rincón fue un Éxito! En un caluroso y soleado sábado, más de setentaicinco voluntarios sembraron aproximadamente 150 árboles nativos a la orilla de Marias. Los árboles fueron sembrados para ayudar a prevenir la amenaza de erosión y la sedimentación que podría ocurrir, que es tan perjudicial para los arecifes de coral tan preciados para Rincón.

Una vez más, el evento fue organizado por un residente de Rincón, maestro local y miembro de Surfrider, Armando Asencio. Se le agradece profundamente a todos los voluntarios y a la oficina de reciclaje de Rincón por su gran esfuerzo.

May 10, 2003: Second Siembra a Success

Rincón, PR The Second Annual Rincón Siembra was a success. On a hot and sunny Saturday, over seventy five volunteers planted approximately 150 native trees on the coastline by Marias. The trees were planted to help reduce the threat of erosion and the resulting sedimentation that is so damaging to Rincóns precious coral reefs.

Once again, the event was organized by Rincón resident, local teacher and Surfrider member Armando Asencio. Many thanks to all the volunteers and the Rincón recycling office for the tremendous effort.
