During the activity students and volunteers planted over 225 native species making the Fourth Annual Siembra the most prolific effort yet. The trees were planted to raise awareness and to help reduce the threat of erosion and the resulting sedimentation that is so damaging to Rincón's precious coral reefs. The participants were visited by Mayor Carlos López who assured the volunteers that they could count on the municipality to help the trees survive.
