October 13, 2006 -- Surfrider’s National Board of Directors Meets in Rincón
Rincón, PR -- The Surfrider Foundation's National Board of Directors held its most recent meeting in Rincón the weekend of October 13th, 2006. The Board meets 3 times annually to provide oversight and guidance to the Foundation and our mission. Rincón was selected as the venue to provide Board members with the opportunity to experience Rincón firsthand, to see the Foundation’s efforts in the community and to demonstrate its ongoing support for the work being done here.
Among other work accomplished at the meeting, the Board passed two resolutions specific to Puerto Rico. The Rincón resolution called for an ecosystem-based campaign to protect coastal and ocean resources in Rincón. The other resolution was a formal declaration of support for the designation of Puerto Rico’s Northeastern Ecological Corridor as a Nature Reserve.
