EARTHDAY BEACH AND CREEK CLEAN UPS!!

Saturday, April 19th 10AM to Noon

Earth Day 2008 is an idea time to give back to Mother Nature and support local conservation efforts. Join the Santa Barbara Surfrider Chapter at three local beaches to pick up litter, enter to win some great prizes and learn about other ways you can stay involved with environmental preservation year-round.  Surfrider will host a beach clean-up at Henry's, Leadbetter & Miramar Beaches at 10 AM on Saturday, April 19th.  Clean-up supplies will be provided and all ages are welcome to attend.

In additon City of Santa Barbara Creeks Division and the County of Santa Barbara Project Clean Water will be hosting creek clean-ups in connection with Earth Day on Saturday, April 19th from 10:00-12:00. Bags, gloves, and a post clean-up FREE LUNCH will be provided for all volunteers.  

    -- E. Storke Wetland: Meet in the parking lot north of the UCSB Storke soccer fields.
    -- Devereux Creek: Meet where Devereux Creek crosses under Phelps  Rd. in Goleta. We will also be conducting water    quality testing at several points along the creek.
