Surfrider Foundation Santa Barbara Chapter is excited to host
guest speaker, Cameron Benson, the
new Creeks Restoration/Clean Water Manager for the City of Santa
Barbara,
at our next general meeting August 2 at the Watershed Resource
Center.
He will oversee a broad range of creek and ocean water
quality, riparian and wetland habitat restoration and public
education and outreach programs. A UCSB graduate with broad expertise
in environmental law and policy, Benson has been an active member
of our community for over twenty years. He has taught environmental
education classes to local students, practiced non-profit environmental
law with the Environmental Defense Center, served as Assembly
member Hannah-Beth Jackson’s District Director, and provided
consulting services for local and national environmental organizations.
Throughout his career, Cameron Benson has proven to be a strong
and effective advocate for environmental protection.
Santa Barbara Chapter general meetings are a place to hear from
