God recording artists The SOLEDADEEZ
will be hosting a CD Release Party and Surfrider Benefit on Thursday
June 8 at SOHO. The band plays an eclectic blend of folk grooves
with funked up rhythms and engaging lyrics. The Soledadeez, Corey
Linberg and Michael McHugh, have created their own
acoustic groove sound that mixes rock, reggae, jam, hip hop, island and dance
music. Linberg, formerly of local favorite The Messengers, is a skilled singer
and guitarist, and McHugh is a talented wordsmith and multi-instrumentalist.
The two musicians have combined their creative energy to produce the new album "The
Soledadeez Present Fattyboombaladee."
According to The Santa Barbara Independent, Soledadeez music "is
lyrically enjoyable and chock-full of positive messages."
The
CD release party will open with singer/songwriter Jess Goldman
at 9:00. Her acoustic reggae folk stylings will be followed by
the Soledadeez, who will be joined on-stage by a long list of
talented local musicians including Rebecca Kleinman, Kevin Vogel,
John Gill, Bryan "Smitty" Smyth, Jon Willis, Doug Jaffe,
Paull Ruebin, as well as Jess Goldman.
The event will benefit the Santa Barbara Surfrider Foundation.
Part of the evening's proceeds will be donated to the foundation
and an informational area will be set-up with a donation station.
Cover charge is $5. CDs will be available at a discounted price
of $5. Doors open at 8:00.
