The Seattle Surfrider executive team is developing a strategic plan for 2008. Part of that plan includes identifying key areas to focus on that impact our local water quality and marine habitat. Our key focus points for 2008 will be:
A campaign to ban plastic bags in Seattle
Working with the Port of Seattle and King County to develop a plan to treat raw sewage from the marine cruise industry
Other future goals include storm drain marking and watershed mapping.
Want to know more? Would you like to get involved in one of our projects for 2008? We need volunteers!

Respect the Beach - Respect the Beach is an outreach program designed to educate the community on watershed health and how to preserve our coastal environments. RTB does this through classrooms, churches, and other community environments.
Respect the Beach is currently not an active program in the Seattle chapter. If you are interested in becoming our Respect the Beach Coordinator, please contact Seattle@surfrider.org.
