Dear ________________ :

As a resident of _________________ and a beachgoer, I am concerned with the water quality along the coast. I know that excess nitrogen in the surf zone can come from many non-point sources, but the one that you can control is the sewage dumped from the gambling boats. Each day they dump thousands of gallons of black water and grey water only a few miles from the coast. My worry is that some of that is not diluting and eventually washing up on the coast. The health of my family is my primary concern.

You have the ability to request that Suncruz and Sterling use the pump out services at the port. You have the support of the local community, because they know how important a clean beach is to the economy. Please consider taking action to stop the gambling boats from dumping their sewage right off our coastline. Our ocean is not a toilet, and dilution is not the solution. Please support House Bill 57 - The Clean Oceans Act.

Sincerely,
