Surfrider Meetings and Events -

6/9 – 7:30 p.m. – Surfrider General Membership Meeting – Fisherman’s Museum at the Sebastian Inlet (south gate) – surf session around 6 p.m. at the dirt road beach access, in between Whitey’s and Longpoint Campground.

6/16 – 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. – Unsalted, Surf Movie Premiere at the Cocoa Beach Playhouse – Info-booth volunteers needed

6/21 – 10 a.m. – 1:30p.m. – International Surfing Day in Cocoa Beach, behind the Comfort Inn, two blocks south of Ron Jons (beach cleanup at Noon) – lots of volunteer positions still open

6/8 – 4:30 p.m - Meeting of the Partnership for Sustainable Future, at the Lagoon House on University and US1 in Melbourne

6/15 – 7:00 p.m. - Sat. Beach City Council Meeting – Discuss buying Perkin’s property –565 Cassia Blvd.

6/24 - 9:00 am to 12:00 pm – Brevard County WAV program - Stormdrain marking event, Provost Park area, 400 South Varr Avenue , Cocoa, Stormwater pollution is the biggest threat to the health of the Indian River Lagoon.  By placing markers on stormdrains in our neighborhoods, we can educate are residents about the immediate connection between roads and rivers.  Educational door hangers are provided to tell residents about household do's and don'ts that impact stormwater.  This activity is appropriate for all ages.  All equipment, snacks, and water will be provided.  Good walking shoes are required.  Please consider the sun - wear a hat and sunscreen!   DIRECTIONS: From US Hwy 1 at SR-520 ( King Street ), go west 0.7 miles. Turn left on South Varr Avenue and go 0.1 miles and park.

6/28 and 6/29 – Oculina Reef Marine Sanctuary Public Info Meeting - The first is geared for participants who are technically oriented.  It will take place from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm, Tuesday, June 28 at Florida Space Authority, 100 Space Way, Cape Canaveral . A general information meeting is slated from 9:30 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, June 29 at the Cocoa Beach Public Library located at 550 North Brevard Avenue.
