New School Dropouts will be there from 4:30 to 5:30 to jam out until the sun drops. To volunteer to help run our Surfrider table - contact Greg at surfrider@cfl.rr.com

It's not to early to start planning to take time off in January to help us run the Surfrider booth at the Globe Sebastian Inlet Pro - January 4th through 12th. We need volunteers to run the booth, getting beachgoers to sign up and giving away educational materials that help empower people to protect their beach. Contact Brian Lind at surfman@sunnyfla.us or call him at 749-8557 to sign up.

Did you know we elected a new chairman? Rick Hayes, from Satellite Beach was chosen for the leadership role, with Brian Lind (also from Satellite) acting as Vice-Chairman and still Volunteer Coordinator. Speaking of volunteers, we need a few to lead some important committees that follow our current issues -

Gambling Boat Pollution, Beach Dredging, Water Quality, and essential to our existence - Fundraising. Please contact Rick Hayes at rlhayes@bellsouth.net or call him at 779-0279 to help.

Thanks to all the grommets, young and old, that came out to our beach cleanup at 4th Street on November 15th in Cocoa Beach. Over 30 participants scoured the dune and high tide line, removing litter from the beach. Special thanks to Freedom 7 and Roosevelt Elementary Schools for spreading the word and recruiting kids. Let's hope to do it again this April.

Don't forget to check the National Website for current news - www.surfrider.org and to contact your local, county, and state representatives and ask them to protect our natural coastal ecosystem and our waves.

Surfrider stay involved with community events all the time, so to stay up to date on our latest happenings, visit the Surfrider forum on www.2ndlight.com
