Paddle Out for Clean Water 2006
The focus of this year's event was Surfrider's State of the Beach report. In support, Donna Michalak, Chapter Secretary, summarized recent ocean water quality facts and figures from NJ-DEP as well as the Coastal Coalition Report. Guest speaker, Brent from The Nature Conservancy, also spoke to the crowd of about forty participants who showed up at 59th Street beach in Ocean City for the event. Towards sunset, the group formed a ring in tiny, wind-chopped surf, and chapter event coordinator, Barry Bond, said a few words about our love of the ocean.
