One of the most simple
and efficient ways to donate to the Surfrider Foundation
is by contributing through Earth Share in your workplace
charity campaign. Earth Share is a nationwide network
of the country's most respected environmental and
conservation organizations and offers a simple way
to care for our precious natural resources. Earth
Share's program gives working people an easy and
efficient opportunity to support environmental charities
like the Surfrider Foundation through payroll contribution
at the workplace.
By contributing to the Surfrider Foundation through Earth Share, you may pledge that a small amount of each paycheck be automatically deducted to help protect our oceans, waves and beaches. Think about it . . . . if you pledge $25 per paycheck (less than a tank of gas!!!) and get paid every two weeks in one year you will have made a $650 gift to the Surfrider Foundation.
Want to give to other environmental charities besides just the Surfrider Foundation? Earth Share provides the option to distribute your gift to multiple organizations or to give a single gift that is distributed among all of its members, covering the widest variety of environmental and conservation issues. The choice is yours.
Participating Companies
More and more companies now allow their employees to contribute to the Surfrider Foundation through Earth Share. Among them: American Airlines, Time Warner, Wells Fargo, The New York Times, American Express, Avon Products, HBO, Siemens, Gannett, Hewlett Packard, UnitedHealth Group, Sears, Home Depot and Wal-Mart.
Giving as a Federal Employee
As a member of Earth Share, Surfrider Foundation participates annually in the
largest workplace giving campaign in the nation - the Combined Federal Campaign
(CFC) for employees of the federal government and the U.S. military. If you are
a federal government or military employee and would like to give to the Surfrider
Foundation through the CFC, please enter CFC code #10642 on your pledge card
during the next fund drive.
Please note, all charities' CFC code numbers have changed for 2007. Surfrider Foundation's new CFC code is 10642. Please consult your CFC charity listings for updated numbers prior to completing your 2007 pledge card.
Giving Through Your United Way Campaign
Several local United Ways include Earth Share in their list of charities. United Way donors in the areas of Washington, DC; Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC; Rhode Island; Washtenaw County, MI; and San Diego, CA may designate their United Way donations to the Surfrider Foundation through Earth Share. Even if Earth Share is not listed in your company’s United Way campaign brochure, you may still donate to Earth Share and any of Earth Share’s member organizations by writing in a “donor choice” option.
