Many people do not realize that they can make a gift to the Surfrider Foundation while retaining much needed income. In fact, donors can choose from many so called “income producing gifts.” Often, people find that they can actually give more when they understand the benefits of tax savings, asset management, and regular payments for life available to them through life income gifts. They also find that being philanthropic does not require that they sacrifice their loved ones’ financial security.
Very often life income gifts can help a donor to: create a supplemental source of retirement income; ensure a protected income for their spouse or other loved ones who survive them; arrange funds to cover educational expenses for children or grandchildren; and increase the donor’s
income from low yielding stocks, certificates of deposit
or other underperforming assets.
