It's been a tremendous year for Surfrider Foundation in Oregon! While we played some significant defense from federal threats to our ocean and coasts, we also brought home some big state and local wins across all of our strategic initiatives. Our Oregon chapters' volunteer programs and events shined this year and when it mattered most, they showed up for oceans and beaches. We couldn't be more proud of our network and we're excited to share some top stories and accomplishments in our 2025 Oregon Surfrider Annual Report.
Preview a sneak peek below with a few quick snapshots from our Clean Water and Plastic Pollution sections of the report, but be sure to download the full 2025 Annual Report for linked articles, program and campaign highlights, top events, and chapter snapshots!
This work is possible because of our incredible network of activists and our superstar team of chapter leaders on the ground in their communities!
A highlight of our Plastic Pollution work includes our Yaquina Bay Aquaculture Marine Debris Project - a collaborative project with Oregon Sea Grant Natural Resource Policy Fellow, Dr Sarah Wolf. This project brought together community partners in Newport to remove debris from the estuary and push for innovation solutions to plastic use in oyster aquaculture.
A big thank you to all that contributed to this year's success and especially our chapter volunteer leaders. From the Surfrider Oregon 2025 Team!
