The Palm Beach County Chapter started their Blue Water Task force program in the Summer of 2016 as a result of growing concerns regarding a lack of water quality information. As funding to sample county beaches was lost, and freshwater was being released from Lake Okeechobee and canals into sensitive estuaries, the PBC Chapter created their water quality monitoring program to provide information to the public. The Chapter partners with Jupiter High School's "Green Schools Club" to run their Blue Water Task Force. Volunteers from the Palm Beach County Chapter collect samples at three locations weekly or bi-weekly, and the samples are brought to the Green Schools Club at Jupiter high to be processed.
