Ban the Bag St. Petersburg!

Active | June 12 2017

Plastic Pollution

Cities across Florida are moving forward with local plastic bag ordinances! We are working with the City of St. Petersburg to ban single-use plastic bags.

Let's ban the bag, St. Pete! We're asking the City's Energy, Natural Resources & Sustainability Committee to propose a comprehensive single-use plastic bag ban at their meeting on July 27th, 3:30 PM. In the meantime, we're working directly with the city and local businesses to make sure that the ordinance is a win/win for our entire community.

To support, please email our local city council members and ask them to support a plastic bag ordinance for the city of St Petersburg:

Plastic Pollution

Rise Above Plastics is designed to eliminate the impacts of plastics in the marine environment by raising awareness about the dangers of plastic pollution and by advocating for a reduction of single-use plastics and the recycling of all plastics.
