Beach Water Testing Program in Hawaii Struggling

The Garden Island.com, a Kaua'i-based newspaper and media website that does an excellent job of covering beach and water pollution issues on Kauai, has just posted a very revealing article on how the Hawaii Department of Health's beach monitoring program's limited budget is already forcing it to fall short of its water testing requirements.  Like many other coastal states, if Hawaii loses their federal BEACH grant too, their program will be cut back even more, leaving the beach-going public unprotected.
