So far in 2019, the Surfrider Foundation has won 90 coastal victories, more than in any other single year in our 35 year history (check out this blog post for a detailed review of our work in 2019)! Every one of these victories is a reflection of the dedication and support of Surfrider’s network of passionate supporters. While we celebrate these victories, we cannot rest on them. The threats facing the world’s ocean, waves and beaches, including pollution, development, and climate change, are relentless. And our work to take on and eliminate these threats must also remain relentless.
As we approach the holidays, and the year-end giving season, we are grateful for the outpouring of support that provides us with the necessary resources to fund our programs, and run the campaigns, that lie at the heart of our work. In addition to providing direct support by joining Surfrider, here are a few other ways you can support Surfrider that we ask you to consider:
Amazon Smile - If you do your holiday shopping at smile.amazon.com, and select Surfrider Foundation as the benefitting nonprofit, Amazon will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products to Surfrider. Since November, $29,000 has been raised for Surfrider.
Patagonia Action Works - Double your impact by donating to Surfrider via Patagonia’s Surfrider Action Works page. Between Friday, November 29, and Tuesday, December 31, Patagonia will match each individual donation up to $10,000 until $10,000,000 is reached for participating organizations.
Other ways to give
- Gift Memberships - Last minute shopping? You can purchase a gift membership online anytime and notify your recipient with an e-card. A gift membership to Surfrider is the perfect way to share your love of our ocean, waves and beaches with a friend or family member, and to grow our network of individuals willing to protect what we love.
- Stocks & Bonds - Donating appreciated securities, including stocks or bonds, is an easy way for you to make a gift to the Surfrider Foundation.
- Donor Advised Funds - Help protect our ocean, waves, and beaches by putting your Donor Advised Fund to use. Simply designate the Surfrider Foundation, Tax ID 95-3941826 as a recipient.

Regardless of how you choose to provide your support to Surfrider, we are grateful for it, and for you. The work we do would come to a stop without it, and without you.
