Surfrider's Blue Water Task Force awarded National Water Quality Monitoring Council's “Vision Award”

Surfrider Foundation is honored to have been awarded the 2021 Vision Award by the National Water Quality Monitoring Council.

The National Water Quality Monitoring Council is a forum that brings together the diverse expertise needed to develop collaborative, comparable, and cost effective approaches to monitor and assess our Nation’s water quality. Every other year, the Council presents this award to a monitoring council or other group that has demonstrated extraordinary vision and cooperation in the field of water quality monitoring on a local or regional level through one or more of the following areas:

  • Developing new and creative approaches to water resources monitoring or management on a local or regional level
  • Providing leadership in bringing together a diverse array of partners including scientists, managers, stakeholders and communities to address water quality or quantity issues
  • Promoting water quality monitoring data comparability, management, and sharing
  • Educating stakeholders on water-related monitoring managers and issues

Surfrider is grateful for the volunteers who over the past 25 years helped to build this program into the massive national effort it is today. We are honored to join the Southern California Coastal Water Research Project (SCWRP), Georgia Adopt-A-Stream, and many others as a recipient of this Vision Award.

Thanks to Surfrider's Blue Water Task Force program sponsors, Dragon Alliance and House of Marley as well, for their ongoing support and commitments to helping this program continue to grow and flourish.
