With support from our Corporate Partners and Surf Industry Coastal Defenders, 2019 has been a landmark year for the Surfrider Foundation. This year, we celebrated 35 years of protecting our ocean and coasts with the most Coastal Victories in a single year since we first began tracking our campaign successes. Surfrider partners help raise crucial awareness by supporting our mission from the inside out, and rallying their fans to join the movement, too— and we are so proud of what we have accomplished together this year.
Beyond helping to fund Surfrider's programs and initiatives, our partners support our mission by taking part in industry sign-on letters, action alerts, educational panels, volunteer opportunities, and even turning to their own offices and supply chains to ensure that they are continuously working toward a more sustainable future for their company, for the industry, and for our ocean and coasts.
This year, with the help of our international affiliates, Surfrider partners were able to expand their support to countries outside the United States, and support the health of the ocean from one coast to another. Other partners took the opportunity to focus in on a specific issue or region and deepen their understanding of the issues impacting their local coastline. Some took an internally-focused approach and integrated Surfrider's mission into their own, from their office culture and resources to their production line. Across all of our dynamic partnerships, we are honored to work with companies that are leading the way in sustainability standards and methodology.
Without support from our partners and the incredible dedication of Surfrider volunteers, the impacts we have achieved this year would not be possible. We are so grateful for our partners and supporters, and can't wait to see what we can accomplish together in 2020!
