The Surfrider Foundation has announced that it will be rolling out a special membership offering in celebration of World Water Day.  For one day only, March 22nd, beach and ocean supporters will receive a free limited edition reusable Nalgene™ bottle when they join or renew their membership to the Surfrider Foundation.
The Foundation will also be offering a very limited number of “premium” World Water Day membership packages.  The first 50 people joining or renewing at the $150 (or greater) level will not only receive a World Water Day bottle, they will receive a Surfrider Foundation t-shirt and a voucher for a pair of Levi’s® brand Water<Less™ jeans, denim made using an average of 28% less and as much as 96% less water during the finishing process.
“We could not be more excited to have the support of Levi’s® brand on World Water Day,” says Matt McClain, Surfrider Foundation’s Director of Marketing & Communications.  “The steps they are taking with the new Water<Less™ collection are innovative and show that the company is committed to making a positive change to conserve water.”
Founded in 1993 by the United Nations, World Water Day is a global observance that highlights the need for the care and management of the world’s water resources.  This year’s World Water Day theme, “Urban Water Usage,” highlights the ongoing challenges we face as urban populations continue to grow, and the Surfrider Foundation is raising awareness on how we can all reduce our water footprint by making small changes in our daily lives.
People who visit and share their water-saving tips by posting a photo will automatically be entered to win a voucher good for a Levi’s® brand Water<Less™ product.  Prizes will be given for the most creative photo, inspiring tip, and funniest photo just to name a few categories.
