Support San Diego Recycled Wastewater

Recycled Wastewater/Indirect Potable Reuse (IPR) is a campaign to first study the safety and reliability of recycling wastewater for re-use through “reservoir augmentation.” Once the study is complete, the Chapter will be advocating implementation of the reservoir augmentation to meet multiple goals, including reducing the “embedded energy” in the region’s water supply (and the associated greenhouse gas emissions) and reducing partially treated wastewater discharges from the Point Loma Wastewater Treatment Facility. The Chapter is also supporting other watewater recycling proposals in the San Diego region. This campaign is a component in the larger water management reform objectives in our "Know Your H2O" program.
