West Coast EBM Network Meeting in Eureka, CA

How can we better protect and restore our coastal ecosystems through community-based efforts? That was the central question posed to over 50 leading advocates, managers, and scientists in attendance at the West Coast Ecosystem-Based (EBM) Network annual meeting held in Eureka, CA on September 27-29. Co-sponsored by the NOAA Coastal Services Center, the meeting explored key topics such as stakeholder engagement, collaborative science, improved governance, and ecosystem protection and restoration. The meeting also featured presentations by Surfrider's Paul Jenkin on the Ventura River Ecosystem project and the Know Your H20 program and Pete Stauffer on Surfrider's Washington's Outer Coast campaign and the Port Orford Stewardshop Area project.
