Youth Power Activate!

The Blue Frontier Campaign has just announced the 4th Annual Peter Benchley Award winners, who will be recognized at this year's Blue Vision Summit (May 20-23 in Washington, D.C.).  Standing there at the podium alongside the President of Costa Rica, the Director of Stanford University’s Hopkins Marine Lab and Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen will be 18-year-old Rudy Sanchez, who co-founded and now leads the ‘Rise Above Plastics’ program at his Los Angeles area high school!  Rudy has been a RAP advocate for the past few years and part of the Plastics Are Forever summit youth presentation.  Congrats Rudy!

In San Diego, Kearny High School of Digital Media and Design has been working with the local Surfrider Chapter to develop psa's and outreach material for programs such as Rise Above Plastics! and Know Your H2O.  Here are a couple of web banners and short animation video they put together:
