City of Boynton Beach Polystyrene Ordinance
Polystyrene foam food-ware is a major source of litter and one of the top items we find on our regular beach cleanups. The Palm Beach County Chapter seeks to ban polystyrene foam food-ware on all City of Isles Beach public property.
The Florida Legislature has taken away the ability of cities and counties to ban polystyrene in all areas except municipal property. That's why our Palm Beach County Chapter is working with the City of Boynton Beach to ban polystyrene foam food-ware on all city property. This is a first, but important step to take in reducing plastic pollution.
On Tuesday, April 20th the City of Bonyton Beach commission voted to protect their environment and passed the ordinance!
