Celebrating Our Partner Scott Dunn Luxury Travel With A Once In A Lifetime Live Auction Package!

Scott Dunn is an experiential, luxury travel company specializing in customized private journeys to incredible destinations all around the world. As a tour operator, Scott Dunn believes in their responsibility to respect and conserve economic, environmental and socio-cultural balances. As such, they've set up a charitable fund that supports projects around the world. Having opened their first office in California in 2016, they wanted to support a local charity that resonated with the beliefs of the team. Protecting the world’s ocean is something they all feel very strongly about and the Surfrider Foundation is proud to have their support.

Our partnership has included hands-on volunteer activities with their employees, education lunch and learns at their office and now we are excited to announce an incredible live auction package valued at $15,000 donated by Scott Dunn for our One Ocean annual fundraiser event, taking place in Los Angeles on September 13, 2018. This proceeds from the package will support Surfrider's plastic pollution initiative.

An Incredible Journey for Two in Indonesia

This is a luxurious ten-night getaway for two people to stunning Indonesia, where clear blue seas lap pristine, deserted beaches and gentle breezes carry scents of spices and flowers. Indonesia is a country of diversity, from the rice paddies of Bali cut into hillsides like giant steps and volcanoes soaring through the clouds, to the remote and unique island of Sumba, untouched by the modern world. The diving is excellent, and inland, the varied terrain includes lush rainforest perfect for adventure enthusiasts. The different cultures and people of Indonesia offer warm hospitality and the hotels you’ll stay in are some of the best in the world. Day 1 – Alila Villas Uluwatu, Bali – 3 nights

A collection of luxury, contemporary villas, Alila Villas Uluwatu is set on a clifftop plateau at the southern tip of Bali with stunning views over the Indian Ocean. All of the 65 villas have private pools and a spacious outdoor area, perfect for unwinding in. The open plan design means that the rooms benefit from the sea breeze and the huge glass windows give you stunning views from your room to the ocean.

There’s an incredible range of activities on offer here. Get up early one morning to climb the 362 steps down to the beach and back up again so you can indulge in their delicious tapas-style breakfast menu guilt free. Or choose to take a complimentary yoga class at the stunning cliff edge cabana. Both are lovely ways to start your day. Another fun experience is taking a Balinese cooking class, which includes a visit to the local bustling market. From Alila Villas Uluwatu you can explore the likes of Pura Luhur Ulawatu (Uluwatu Temple), Bali's most spectacular temple or the local white-sand beaches famous for surfing such as Nyang Nyang, Suluban beach, Padang Padang beach, Dreamland beach and Balangan beach. After a busy day of exploring, head to the sunset cabana at dusk to enjoy cocktails overlooking the lapping waves below before you experience a food lovers paradise at Alila's Warung restaurant.

Day 4 – Amandari, Bali – 2 nights

At Amandari, you’ll feel completely at home with the relaxed and incredibly welcoming atmosphere.  Set in a peaceful area outside Ubud, the hotel has stunning views over the Ayung River and lush rice paddies beyond. Amandari is believed to be on sacred land and this Balinese retreat certainly feels like a hidden sanctuary.

Amandari has been designed as a traditional Balinese Village and is situated on land that is interwoven with the local community and their peaceful culture. All of the luxury suites are Balinese in style and the elegant and spacious suites have plenty of indoor and outdoor living areas.

Ubud is known to be a spiritual and healing place and a visit to Amandari's spa, situated alongside calming lily clad ponds, confirms this. Each afternoon, the local village children attend a dance classes on the property. It’s a real treat to watch, and even join in. The ways to spend your time at Amandari are endless, ride a mountain bike into Ubud, the cultural heart of Bali to explore the colorful markets and art galleries or explore the local area with invigorating treks including a walk along the Ayung Valley past sacred shrines, rice terraces, mango, coffee and clove trees. Cooking classes, yoga, golf, white water rafting and elephant trekking are just a selection of activities available.

Day 6 – Nihi Sumba Island, Sumba – 5 nights

For the perfect place to finish off your trip, fly onto Sumba Island. You won't find a more authentic experience anywhere else in Indonesia - this is a wholly unique experience. With lush jungle on one side and Indian Ocean stretching out as far as the eye can see on the other, Nihi Sumba encompasses tropical forest, rice terraces and grasslands, while its stunning beachfront is protected by headlands. Tucked amongst the trees are Nihi's 21 villas that represent the cutting-edge of eco-luxury. Hand-built by local craftsmen, all of the individually styled villas have an emphasis is on open-plan living that reflects the simplicity and beauty of Sumbanese architecture.

Nihi Sumba is an playground for adults and children alike, with activities galore including fishing, horse riding along the beach at sunset, yoga, meditation, trekking, a weekly cooking course and surfing. Nihi Sumba Island boasts one of the top waves in Indonesia, if not the world, and the professional surfers who have visited Nihi Sumba Island over the years have attested to this.
