Support Surfrider Maui Local Efforts

On August 8th 2023, multiple wildfires ripped through the Maui towns of Lāhainā and Kula, claiming the lives of over 100 people and destroying countless homes and businesses. Please consider donating to help the local Maui community heal and rebuild.

Our Maui chapter volunteers and regional staff have been providing supplies to shelters, fostering animals, and supporting volunteer relief efforts—but there is an ongoing, critical need to address the environmental and human health impacts of the fires.

How You Can Help

The road to recovery in Maui is going to be long and difficult.  With these rebuilding efforts will come a slew of environmental and humanitarian issues. Surfrider’s Maui chapter is focused on ensuring that our waters are tested, our beaches are accessible and safe, and our community is supported as they begin the rebuilding process.

Your donations will go directly to our Maui chapter and will help with projects like conducting additional water quality monitoring, advocating for government transparency as it relates to human safety and environmental protections, shoreline clean up efforts, sustainable coastal rebuilding efforts, support of Ocean Friendly Restaurants, community rebuilding projects, and more.
