Sarah grew up just a few miles from the Atlantic Ocean in South Florida. Many of her favorite childhood memories and key experiences revolved around the ocean. Whether it was deep sea fishing off her family’s tiny boat, playing in the surf or just walking along the shoreline inspecting whatever the east winds blew in that day, Sarah couldn’t stay away from the ocean.

She transferred her passion for the great outdoors into a career in public service and environmental policymaking. Sarah received her undergraduate degree from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, where she majored in Marine Affairs and Biology. She later moved from the Sunshine State to the Ocean State to earn her juris doctorate from Roger Williams University School of Law in Bristol, Rhode Island. She currently resides in Washington, D.C. and serves as a Chief Counsel for a standing committee in the House of Representatives defending our oceans, wildlife and public lands. She enjoys traveling with her family and exploring new surf locations around the world.
