As the Blue Water Task Force Manager, Michelle supports Surfrider's chapter-led water testing program throughout the country. Michelle has a background in aquatic ecology, as well as volunteer engagement and education. Prior to this role, she received her MSc in Freshwater and Marine Biology from University of Amsterdam, and managed a volunteer-run water quality monitoring lab in Western NC. As a passionate water quality advocate, she believes that science communication is just as important as obtaining scientific results. When not working, Michelle can be found kayaking, snorkeling, hiking with her pups, or reading a good book.
