Introducing the New Almond Surfboards Collaboration Collection

For the second year in a row, the Surfrider Foundation and Almond Surfboards have collaborated to design a new collection of surfboards, apparel and accessories that will support our mission to protect our ocean, waves and beaches.

Almond is a family-owned custom surfboard business based in Costa Mesa, California, and since 2008, Almond has been producing goods with a focus on timelessness and longevity. Since 2019, Almond has supported Surfrider as a Surf Industry Coastal Defender and partner, through sales of our collaboration collections. Check out the newest collection here in the Surfrider shop.

For our second collaboration collection, we are fortunate to have enlisted design support from the creative hand of artist Ty Williams (@tywillyums). Throughout the collection, sea animals are featured as a nod to Surfrider's mission and Almond's core values— each of us doing our part to protect the shared places we value, enjoy and rely on.

This year's collection features a new Almond R-Series 8'0 Joy— a foam board made for surfers of all ages and skill levels, designed with its end-of-life in mind, with materials that can be recycled at the end of the board’s life, through Almond's Recycling Loyalty Program. Learn more about Almond's board recycling program in the video below.

Building on last year's apparel collection, the new collection features new tee styles and a sweatshirt, as well as a hat, bandana and mug. Proceeds from sales of the entire collection, both in-store at Almond's shop in Costa Mesa and online through Surfrider's or Almond's site will directly support Surfrider's mission.

Thanks to our partners at Almond Surfboards, and to Ty Williams for their ongoing support of our mission.
