What is a Donor Advised Fund (DAF)?
- A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is a tax-efficient, organized charitable giving account created to support nonprofits you care about.
- DAFs are commonly offered through providers like Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, and many community foundations.
- You can contribute cash, stocks, or other assets to your DAF and recommend grants over time.
- Supporting Surfrider through your DAF helps protect our ocean, waves, and beaches for future generations.
How do I recommend a grant from my DAF to Surfrider?
- Use the DAF search tool on this page or log into your DAF provider’s website.
- Search for “Surfrider Foundation” and select our organization (our EIN is 95-3941826), then enter your grant amount.
- If you'd like to designate your DAF gift to a chapter or program, please include that in the memo or notes field, grant letter, or let us know at development@surfrider.org.
- You can choose to make a one-time or recurring grant to support ongoing ocean protection efforts.
- Don't forget to let us know so we can make sure to attribute the gift to you and according to your intentions!
