After the fireworks fade and the parties end, our coastlines are often left covered in trash. From single-use plastics to fireworks debris and broken gear — we’ve seen it all. This waste doesn’t just look bad. It can wash into the ocean or get buried in the sand, threatening marine life, public health, and the beaches we love. For over 20 years, Surfrider volunteers have shown up to clean the mess after the crowds have gone home.
