“Why should recreational users care about marine spatial planning?”
This was the question posed by filmmakers Chris Hannant and Gillian Montgomery as they traveled Washington’s Pacific coast over a ten day trip this past July. The film combines beautiful scenery of the Olympic Peninsula with interviews of Surfrider members and other coastal stakeholders. The key takeaway - surfers, beachgoers and other recreational users have a golden opportunity to protect special places along Washington's coast through marine spatial planning.
