To celebrate the much anticipated release of The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, in theaters only starting December 19, audiences will have a chance to dive into the movement to protect what we all love. Join your favorite characters from Bikini Bottom and the Surfrider Foundation in our shared mission to protect our ocean, waves, and beaches for all to enjoy. Your participation is more important than ever because the ocean needs more friends!
The movie follows SpongeBob as he sets out to prove his bravery to Mr. Krabs by following The Flying Dutchman — a mysterious swashbuckling ghost pirate — on a seafaring comedy/adventure that takes him and his Bikini Bottom friends to the deepest depths of the deep sea, where no Sponge has gone before.
To mark the film’s release, Paramount Pictures will donate $1 from each ticket sold, up to $30,000, to Surfrider! We are also pleased to release a new limited edition educational coloring page featuring all of your favorite characters from Bikini Bottom, offering audiences of all ages actionable, practical lifestyle tips that support a healthy ocean.

SpongeBob and Patrick Star having the adventure of an after-lifetime!
As part of the partnership, Paramount Pictures and Surfrider will host a beach cleanup in Santa Monica, California on Sunday, December 14, joined by movie characters SpongeBob and Patrick Star. This is an invitation for the community to take action to protect the environment by removing trash and plastic pollution, while also collecting meaningful cleanup data that will later be utilized to advocate for policies that help reduce pollution at the source.
You can join the beach cleanup by registering here.
