Mark is a Partner and Investment Committee member at Capricorn Investment Group, a leading Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) firm that manages values-aligned and impact-focused portfolios for families and foundations. Prior to joining Capricorn, Mark was a Managing Director and member of the Investment Committee at Caprock, where he co-led the firm’s impact and sustainable investment practice. He currently serves as an adjunct professor of impact investing at the Columbia University Graduate School of Business. Mark is the inaugural chair of the Impact Capital Managers Limited Partner Council and a member of the ImpactAssets 50 Investment Review Committee.
Earlier in his career, Mark was a Lead Investment Officer at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank, and co-led Deutsche Bank’s Global Social Investment Funds Group. He began his career as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mali, West Africa. Mark holds an MBA and a Master’s in International Affairs from Georgetown University. Mark grew up in Laguna Beach, California, and currently lives in New York City and Amagansett, New York, where he spends as much time as possible in the ocean and surfing.
