Matt has built a dynamic career in the outdoor and snow sports industries. He is an operational executive who has led the growth and expansion of businesses, large and small, public and private. Matt enjoys rolling up his sleeves, wearing lots of hats, and taking an entrepreneurial mindset to all he does. Matt’s success is built on the foundation of lifelong relationships across industries and across oceans.
Matt has an MBA in International Business from Thunderbird (the American Graduate School of International Management) and, upon graduation, quickly combined his passion for the outdoors with his educational background. Over the years, Matt has had the opportunity to work for marquee brands, such as Suunto (Amer Sports), Timberland (VF Corp), Outdoor Industry Association, Vail Resorts, and Mammut Outdoor.
In recent years, Matt has used his experience to work with startups as a mentor in the Techstars accelerator, The Futurist Project, as well as being one of the founders of the ICELab Catapult Outdoor Industry accelerator, and one of the original advisory board members for Utah State’s Outdoor Products Design and Development (OPDD) degree. Matt most recently served as a board member and executive committee member for the nonprofit SOS Outreach.
Matt grew up in Southern California, and spent time living in Hawaii and Florida before settling down in Boulder, CO. When he isn’t on a trail or the slopes, he enjoys planning his next trip to an ocean somewhere with his wife and two college-aged sons.
