East Region

Brody joined Surfrider in 2025 as Chapter Manager for the Eastern Long Island Chapter, after getting his start with the organization as an intern in Summer 2024. He now leads the chapter’s work on clean water, plastic pollution, and beach access across the East End.

In his role, Brody oversees the chapter’s programs, partnerships, and day-to-day operations, including the Blue Water Task Force water quality monitoring program, local policy initiatives, and community campaigns. His work focuses on turning community engagement into real outcomes — from volunteer coordination to advancing local environmental policies and building programs that make a tangible impact.

Brody graduated from Pomona College in 2025 with a B.A. in Environmental Analysis & Economics. Prior to becoming Chapter Manager, he interned twice with the Eastern Long Island Chapter, focusing on Blue Water Task Force and Climate Action programs. He also worked as an Ocean Lifeguard for the Town of East Hampton.

Based in East Hampton, NY, Brody spends as much time as possible in and around the water — bodysurfing, frolicking, and endlessly learning to surf.
