Born and raised in Los Angeles to British parents, Elliott spent his youth exploring the schoolyards and skateparks of Southern California, never straying too far from the waters of the Pacific. Following high school, he fell in love with surfing and spent more time in the water instead of skateboarding nearby it. He attended the University of California, Santa Barbara for his undergraduate degree, studying English and writing for the student-run Daily Nexus.
After graduating from UCSB, he moved to London to embrace his familial roots. While there, he returned to academia, earning a master’s degree in 20th- and 21st-century Anglophone literature. Following two wet, gloomy winters in the UK, he relocated to Marseille, France, seeking solace in a sunnier climate. He taught English to local youth and worked in a café to improve his understanding of the French language and cuisine.
Since returning to the US pre-pandemic to be closer to family, he has written extensively in the surf and skateboarding industries. A true environmentalist and steward of the ocean, he is thrilled to represent Surfrider as a Communications Coordinator and promote the organization’s mission by writing about truly impactful issues.
