West Region

As Southern California Regional Manager, Michaela supports the six chapters between Los Angeles and San Diego in implementing their community-based programs and policy campaigns. She brings a background in environmental education, coastal ecology, and non-profit management to her role, having previously managed education programs that connect youth to nature through immersive watershed science experiences. Michaela deeply values a grassroots approach to ocean conservation and environmental justice and is excited to develop collaborative solutions to coastal challenges with activists across the region.

Michaela remained in Orange County after receiving a Master's degree in Conservation and Restoration Science from UC Irvine, where she completed abalone recovery research in the rocky intertidal. In her free time, you can find Michaela tending to her backyard chickens, thrift shopping, or searching for nudibranchs in local tide pools.
