Corporate Partner
Pura Vida
Pura Vida was founded in 2010 by Griffin Thall and Paul Goodman during their surf trip in Costa Rica where they met two local artisans who made colorful handcrafted bracelets that highlighted the natural beauty of Costa Rica. Griffin and Paul purchased 400 bracelets from the local Costa Ricans and brought them back to San Diego, CA where they sold out in days. Teaming up with these Costa Ricans, they named their collaboration “Pura Vida” and started a business. The name “Pura Vida” comes from the Costa Rican catchphrase “pure life,” which means a lifestyle centered around living life to the fullest and finding gratitude. Led by the catchphrase, Pura Vida has made an effort to be a socially responsible and conscious company, as seen by their partnering with 300 non-profit organizations. The Surfrider Foundation is proud to partner with Pura Vida and of the full collaborative jewelry line especially the Surfrider x Pura Vida bracelet.
