Clean to Planet, Clean to Skin. Meet Our New Partner, REN

Surfrider is proud to announce our new partnership with REN Clean Skincare! We recognize that this conscious brand has a deep rooted commitment to individual health and consideration to make responsible ingredient and packaging choices. REN acknowledges that the beauty industry has an impact on our planet and dedicated to lowering this impact. Founded in London, REN has global distribution and a growing presence in the US and we look forward to building their hands-on, authentic participation with our mission to protect our treasured ocean, waves and beaches.

To kick things off, the REN US team joined forces with Surfrider in Los Angeles for a lunch-and-learn presentation at their office, where we discussed current Surfrider campaigns, such as single use plastic bans and national issues, such as opposition for newly proposed offshore drilling and cuts to federal funding for water quality testing. Their engaged associates shared their favorite beach memories and instantly made the connection on how they could make simple personal habit changes, such as skipping straws, in support of a healthy ocean.

The REN team jumped at the chance to roll up their sleeves and kick off their shoes for a beach cleanup at Dockweiler State Beach. In two hours, the group removed more than 100 pounds of trash and recyclable materials from about a quarter mile of coastline. This high impact area is adjacent to a camp ground and has tremendous need for cleanups.

Throughout 2018, REN and Surfrider will collaborate on cleanups across the US and even with our international affiliates, Surfrider Europe and Surfrider Australia as well as our good friends at Surfers Against Sewage in the UK! We look forward to having their support in growing our network of coastal defenders and increasing the impact to remove plastic and other waste from our beaches.

Stay tuned for updates on this partnership and check out REN's commitment to Taking Action here!
