Marc Lawrence was beloved by his family and a seemingly endless array of friends from across the globe. Marc lived his life to the fullest and loved music and the ocean. Surfing was his passion. He surfed right through the coldest New York winters and documented each session with his trusty GoPro. Marc was a Surfrider Foundation member and we are honored to continue his legacy through Surfrider’s work in New York, allowing future generations to enjoy the ocean, waves and beaches as much as he did.
In Marc’s memory, a significant number of donations were made to the Surfrider Foundation that will support our chapters in New York City and Central Long Island. Marc did much of his surfing in the Rockaways and in Long Beach, NY - two places where Surfrider is very active protecting clean water and healthy beaches.
