Join Us for Coastal Recreation Hill Day in Washington DC

Please join us in Washington D.C. on February 28/ March 1 for an experience you won’t soon forget. Our nation’s elected officials need to hear the voice of the coastal recreation community!

On February 28/ March 1, 2019, Surfrider members, recreation industry leaders, and our partners will convene in Washington D.C. to ask our nation’s leaders to protect our coasts and ocean. Come visit with congressional offices, network with advocates from around the country, and enjoy social events in the evening.

Both Congress and the Trump adminstration are considering policies that will damage coastal resources and the socioeconomic benefits they provide. Ocean recreation and tourism is enjoyed by over 100 million Americans and generates over $115 billion for our nation's economy every year. Yet, our federal government is planning new offshore oil drilling and weakening clean water and climate change policies. Our goal is to elevate the voice of the coastal recreation community and inspire stronger federal leadership on these critical issues.

Our lobby priorities for 2019 Coastal Recreation Hill Day include:

  • Stop New Offshore Drilling
  • Fund Beach Water Quality Testing
  • Reduce Plastic Pollution
  • Promote Coastal Resilience

Reserve Your Spot Today!

Attendees can sign up to participate in meetings with congressional offices on both Thursday and Friday (we understand people may only be available Friday). On Thursday and Friday evenings, Surfrider will host social events for all participants.
