Proud Source Water Supports the Surfrider Foundation

This year, the Surfrider Foundation is thrilled to welcome support for our Plastic Pollution Initiative from Proud Source Water, a certified B-Corp, which provides consumers with 100% naturally alkaline spring water in aluminum bottles instead of single-use plastic packaging. We're excited to work together to continue to reduce and eliminate single-use plastics from the source as we aim for more sustainable alternatives and better infrastructure to accommodate reusables (like the California BYO Bill, AB-619— read about it here!).

As a proud member of 1% for the Planet, Proud Source Water is committed to donating at least one percent of sales to environmental organizations each year. This year, Proud Source Water will support the Surfrider Foundation’s efforts to prevent plastic pollution through beach cleanups, education, and advocacy. Beyond their focus on more sustainable packaging, Proud Source's spring water is responsibly sourced at the base of Idaho’s Mt. McCaleb, and their state-of-the art facility uses a gravity-fed supply system to reduce energy consumption.

“Proud Source Water is diverting millions of plastic bottles a year away from landfills and our oceans, by having a strong presence in grocery stores, hotels, retail locations, as well as providing water at some of the largest music festivals in the United States.” said CJ Pennington, President of Proud Source Water.

Proud Source Water and the Surfrider Foundation will be teaming up to engage attendees of Virgin Fest at the Banc Of California Stadium in Los Angeles on June 6th and 7th around how to reduce single-use plastic— stay tuned for more opportunities to join the movement at additional events throughout the United States in 2020!

“We are making choices today, for tomorrow," said Andrew Piron, COO of Proud Source Water. "Our support of the Surfrider Foundation is a wonderful extension of our mission to help eliminate single-use plastic. We are looking forward to seeing the impacts of this partnership."
