The Department of the Interior is revising the 5-year offshore drilling plan, threatening communities, regional economies, and coastal environments on the East Coast, West Coast, Gulf of Mexico, and Alaska with new oil and gas rigs.
Fortunately, leaders in Congress have introduced bills to permanently ban new offshore drilling.

The Surfrider Foundation, alongside a coalition of conservation organizations represented by Earthjustice, is filing the first environmental lawsuit against the new Trump administration. The lawsuit challenges President Trump’s illegal order to open protected areas of the ocean to future oil and gas leasing.
