Surfrider's Ocean Friendly Gardens (OFG) Program is helping people across the country reimagine and transform landscapes, yards, and community green spaces with nature based solutions that protect clean water, build biodiversity, and support climate resilience.
The Ocean Friendly Gardens Map
Methodist Lane Bioswale from the Eastern Long Island Chapter
Yards, gardens, and community green spaces that meet all of the OFG Criteria can now be certified and added to our new National OFG Map.
This map will help us track the impact of the OFG program in preventing stormwater runoff, creating biodiverse habitat, and building climate-resilient green spaces.
The map is also a source of inspiration for people to take action at home and within their communities. OFGs will look different across different regions depending on local climate, native plants, and opportunities to capture rainfall. Chapters, clubs, community gardens, and private residences are all welcome to be featured if they meet our OFG criteria.
Tip: It is best to view the map on a laptop or desktop
