Surfrider’s One Ocean: supporting clean water and healthy beaches
On July 14, the Surfrider Foundation hosted the One Ocean event in Montauk, NY, the first of two annual bi-coastal fundraisers to protect clean water and healthy beaches for the future.
Supporters gathered at the sold-out event in a waterfront setting to raise funds to amplify Surfrider’s work to reduce plastic pollution through the Eastern Long Island Chapter’s Strawless Summer campaign and to protect clean water through Surfrider’s Blue Water Task Force and Ocean Friendly Gardens programs.
Guests were invited to bid on specialty items at a silent auction and enjoy a cocktail hour, gourmet seated dinner, live auction, and initiative updates by Surfrider’s CEO, Dr. Chad Nelsen, on the Surfrider network’s scalable impacts in Montauk and across the country. Notable guests included actors John Slattery and Jennifer Ferrin, professional surfers Quincy Davis and Pat Schmidt, filmmaker Mikey DeTemple, artist Tony Caramanico, and other leaders from the surf, music and fashion industries.
The Surfrider Foundation extends gratitude to the generous sponsors, in-kind and auction donors, and all guests for supporting the protection of our ocean, waves and beaches for the future. Join us in September for Surfrider's One Ocean in LA (limited tickets available now)!
